概述

模块目标和目的

This module is intended for students of any year of study with previous basic knowledge of the Modern Greek language (A2 of the CEFR or equivalent). The module aims at enabling students to achieve a CEFR B1 level within a defined range of topics, allowing students to move from the immediate personal domain of communicative situations into educational and work-related domains. 

The module aims at providing students with: 

• the ability to communicate in Greek in everyday situations about matters related to work, education, leisure, etc.   
• the competence in Greek grammar and vocabulary required to communicate at a more independent level

• intercultural competence in comparing and evaluating aspects of culture.

1. Demonstrate an understanding of clear, standard spoken and written Greek on a variety of familiar topics. 
2. Express themselves in Greek with reasonable fluency when speaking and writing about familiar subjects in a straightforward communicative context (conversation or text type). 
3. Recognise an increasingly wider and more complex range of Greek vocabulary and grammatical structures and apply these with increased confidence when speaking and writing about familiar and personally relevant subjects.

The module will consolidate and develop the language and communicative skills required to engage with topics such as advanced personal biography, cultural stereotypes and contrasts, ecology and climate crisis, landmark historical and archeological sites, aspects of Modern Greek literature and more. Grammar and vocabulary will be explored in context in an accessible and engaging way, ensuring a solid linguistic foundation.

In order to consolidate and develop their language learning, students are encouraged to complete regular tasks – in class and outside – on which on-going feedback is provided. Additional feedback, with opportunity for self-reflection and feedforward is provided in week 11 of semester 1, through tests and other tasks to be included in the 投资组合/project.
