• To gain critical insight and knowledge into an area of contemporary art practice through appropriate research

• To provide a coherent synthesis of research findings from a wide range of primary sources

• To articulate research findings clearly and effectively

• To produce a written study and a presentation of practical work in accordance with the course regulations.

On successful completion of this module, students will:

• Demonstrate a substantive knowledge of and critical insight into an area of contemporary art practice 

• Demonstrate evidence of a breadth of research and the ability to synthesise research findings 

• Be able to effectively analyse research findings to support critical and aesthetic judgements 

• Demonstrate the ability to organise and present a written study and a presentation of practical work according to the course requirements.
